Dr. Stuckey is one of the first women to practice orthodontics in the state of Louisiana. She was ranked fourth in her class at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Dental Branch at Houston. She was the third woman to graduate with a Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Texas.

She is active in the New Orleans Dental Association, the New Orleans Dental Conference Committee, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Texas Orthodontic Study Club.

On August 29, 2005 her life, along with thousands of others, was immediately changed by the levee breaks and surrounding collapse of the New Orleans area after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  She returned as quickly as possible to begin clean-up and restoration of her home and office that were both severely damaged.

Outside of Orthodontics she spends leisure time playing the upright acoustic bass with her band or other fellow musicians.
